The IEEE LCN (Local Computer Networks) Conference, the
longest running international conference on computer communications, is coming
to Clearwater Beach this October and TBTF president and CEO Heather Kenyon will
open the event on Tuesday morning, October 23.
The IEEE LCN conference is the premier international
conference on the leading edge of theoretical and practical aspects of computer
networking. LCN is a highly interactive conference that enables an effective
interchange of results and ideas among researchers, users, and product
developers. For the past 36 years, major developments from high-speed local
networks to the global Internet to specialized sensor networks have been
reported at this conference. A number of workshops will be co-located with the
conference.
Over 200 researchers, from both academia and industry,
attend IEEE LCN from all over the world over a four-day period. In addition,
IEEE LCN is the host to several workshops on various topics such as wireless
networks, sensor networks, vehicular networks, network management, smart-grid,
or internet services. Primarily research-focused, the conference is not a trade
show.
How can your company get involved?
IEEE LCN is very flexible in terms of sponsorship
opportunities. Typical packages – silver, gold and platinum – range from
$1,000-5,000 and are explained on the website. Organizers are happy
to start a discussion with any potential sponsors to understand what works best
for the conference and the sponsor. For instance, a board room will be
available for interviews and a video can be shown for a company.
